Last night I went out to this thing called Words on Wednesday where Columbia College students give out their heart and soul in song, poems, or spoken words. It was really awesome to see all the talent as well as seeing things from a different point of view. Everyone came from different ways of life here. I couldn't classify a single person I have met yet. These people actually want to be here. The state is no longer mandating they are in school, and that's one of the things that is so wonderful about being here. I'm not surrounded by the kids who are only in school because the state requires they get a high school diploma. I imagine most of these kids have actually given this school some deep thought. It's not just a community college. This school cost 620 dollars per credit hour. Tuition is around 18 thousand a year and housing expenses run around 12 thousand a year. I have yet to meet someone who was unmotivated, who didn't have a passion, who didn't have goals.
[something interesting just happend to me. i just broke a mirror. :[ ]
I also went threw the "I Hope You Dance" book my mom got me a while back. I found something I was very fond of.
"There are too many people too angry
at a world that isn't
in the least bit angry at them."I felt it was very true. I must go put the vaccuum together so I can vaccuum up the mirror. :[

I'm not too fond of that statement at all.
I got stuck going to community college, and although its cheaper (for basically the same education you're getting) it doesn't mean that i am any less motivated to receive an education or be there.
I dont see how the $35,000 DIFFERENCE makes it any better. If you want to learn, you'll do it whether you have to put yourself in debt for it or not.
