I started classes today!

They have been quite a lot of fun! I am currently typing this from the library because the internet in our room is a little bit testy!!

My classes so far have been wonderful. I am very excited to be back in Math, I know it's nerdy, but its true. I haven't ever been really good at Writing and Rhetoric, but I think my teacher will help me out and the school also has a writing center I can make weekly appointments with, which I am pretty positive I am going to do! I turned in an application at the Liberal Education building and they called me back today and I have an interview at 1030am Friday! I am very excited. If I get a job threw the campus, they will most defentally work with my schedule and I will be making 8.50 an hour, which will own anything I ever made in McKinney, then again, mininum wage here is already more than I ever made in McKinney!! Thank goodness for Cato clothes and shoes! I'll have something to wear to my interview!!

I am going to eat dinner. I will try to post more when I can.

I have pictures up on Facebook of my venture to the zoo! I will try to post them here when I get good working internet [if it ever happens].

All boxes unpacked!!

Let's start off with some pictures!!

The living room. Occupied by my roommate and her friend, Nate.

Crooked kitchen!!

The Microwave and the Fridge.

My dresser!!!

My bed is the top one!

The view of our room.

My closet!!

The bathroom!! THAT DEANNA DECORATED.

My desk is the one to the right!! Notice the pretty E my mom made me.

Today, I cleaned the whole apartment and finished unpacking all my clothes. I did have to put some tank tops and thermals in a little storage box. I'm pretty proud of myself for all the cleaning I did. I cleaned the kitchen sink and the kitchen counters. I cleaned the living room. I scrubbed the bathroom counter and the toliet. I was very proud of myself. Not to mention, ALL MY BOXES ARE EMPTY, aside from the one that needs to go home. I found a place for everything!

THE NIGHT VIEW!!!

Headed now to the Late Night Breakfast. Yay. Classes start Tuesday! Can't wait. Tomorrow's post will consist of how I know I'm a true Texan. Be ready!!!

I WENT TO CHINATOWN TODAYY.

My friend Joyce and I trying on hats at one of the stores in Chinatown!

I finally went on a little venture outside of downtown! I went to Chinatown. It was really cool. I enjoyed it a lot. Seeing the different culture is very awesome. They had a store that sold knockoff bags and I really wanted one, but then I realized I don't need to spend my money on that! We also went into a grocery store and I was scarred. They had dried squid and they sold frogs for eating!! It was sad to see. We went to an authentic Chinese restaurant which is the main reason I wanted to go. I got some delicious Chicken Curry. MMM. Eating curry always reminds me of Uncle Kris because that's all he gets to eat in India. The last picture has the coolest view ever! One of the Chinese buildings and the Sears Tower in the background! Tomorrow, my roommate and I are going to IKEA to get some lamps hopefully, our room is really dark. Picture of my room will probably be posted by Saturday or Sunday! Classes start on Tuesday, hopefully on Monday I will get to go to the Lincon Park Zoo!!

It's the little things...

In life that I believe really make all the difference.

Last night I went out to this thing called Words on Wednesday where Columbia College students give out their heart and soul in song, poems, or spoken words. It was really awesome to see all the talent as well as seeing things from a different point of view. Everyone came from different ways of life here. I couldn't classify a single person I have met yet. These people actually want to be here. The state is no longer mandating they are in school, and that's one of the things that is so wonderful about being here. I'm not surrounded by the kids who are only in school because the state requires they get a high school diploma. I imagine most of these kids have actually given this school some deep thought. It's not just a community college. This school cost 620 dollars per credit hour. Tuition is around 18 thousand a year and housing expenses run around 12 thousand a year. I have yet to meet someone who was unmotivated, who didn't have a passion, who didn't have goals.

[something interesting just happend to me. i just broke a mirror. :[ ]

I also went threw the "I Hope You Dance" book my mom got me a while back. I found something I was very fond of.
"There are too many people too angry
at a world that isn't
in the least bit angry at them."

I felt it was very true. I must go put the vaccuum together so I can vaccuum up the mirror. :[

I Went On A Little Journey Today

I jogged all around the city! It was so much fun. I jogged all the way down 8th to Michigan, stopped to smell some flowers... Are these bluebonnets?

I decided to go down to Millennium Park. I really enjoy it. Especially the bean! It's my favorite part of the entire city. While I was there I realized how wonderful this town actually is!
I then jogged all around town trying to find the Sears Tower. So I started going down Washington. I couldn't find it anywhere and so I decided to turn down Wells and then, ALAS there it was!
I continued to jog and made it all the way back to my dorm. I literally jogged 70% of it. I really enjoyed it. There was so much to look at! I am going to try to figure out how far I went!

It's now time for a little Apples to Apples.

UPDATE. I MAPPED OUT MY JOURNEY YESTERDAY.
2.7 MILES

First Few Days in Chicago

So, I went to take some pictures for this blog and I looked straight down from my 19th floor window... I am a bit sick to my stomach now!!

I have been in Chicago for five days. Been in my apartment for 3 days or so. Tonight will be my third night. I have a wonderful view.

Chicago is a fast moving city! This is a bit more blurry because I didn't want to use the flash.

I will post more on what I did the couple of days before move in once I get the pictures from Mommy and Deanna. Also, I will post pictures of my room tomorrow.
